Hi, I’m Chris Brown. I’m a graphic designer based in Washington, DC.

I love design. I've spent most of my career on passionate in-house creative teams at mission-driven organizations. I'm energized by work that is strategic and collaborative. Few things are more exciting than engaging in a thoughtful design process to find a simple solution to a complex problem.

“It’s not simple for simple’s sake, but it’s simple as a result of a process of disassembling a lot of complexity. Simplicity is the endpoint, not the beginning point … ”

— Moira Cullen on Design Matters with Debbie Millman

As I work, I often revisit these words from celebrated brand design strategist Moira Cullen. Cullen was recalling her work on the Coca-Cola identity, but the idea of breaking down complexity applies to many of my favorite projects.
